Classic Whipped Buttercream
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp. meringue powder
- 1/2 cup hot water
Stir together water and sugar until dissolved then add meringue powder and beat to thick meringue.
In another bowl cream:
- 2 cups Cake Icing Shortening OR 1 cup white margarine and 1 cup Cake Icing Shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp. flavoring
- 1lb powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
When all creamed, add 1/2 of the first mixture and gradually beat well. Then add remainder of meringue and beat 10 minutes.
